Meshes

Mesh Settings

Omniarch provides an UI Panel on the right side of the screen, displaying key mesh information and controls for material management, mesh defaults, and grouping. This panel allows users to fine-tune model properties further.

Mesh Information

  • Mesh Thumbnail and Name – Displays a dynamic thumbnail capture and the name of the selected mesh.
  • Revert Arrow – A revert arrow button restores all applied materials and offsets to the import defaults.

Material Slots

Each mesh contains one or more material slots, depending on how materials were defined in the modelling software. Features:

  • Select Material Slot – Selects material slot on the mesh itself.
  • Apply New Materials – Assign materials to individual slots by dragging them on the mesh or by double clicking material tile in Materials Container while having mesh material slot selected.
  • Create New Materials – Create and assign new materials directly from the slot panel.

Material Presets

Omniarch allows users to save and switch material presets for quick and convenient adjustments:

  • Material Preset System – Users can save, switch between or delete different material setups of the mesh. These presets are useful for quickly changing designs in Omniarch Editor.
  • Use with Omniarch Explorer – Saved material presets can be exported with the project for switching in First-Person Mode in Omniarch Explorer, making them ideal for presentations and interactive design showcases.
Material presets are saved within the project, rather than being saved globally to a mesh. Global redistribution option will be added in future updates.

Saving and Resetting Defaults

Users can save or reset various mesh properties for future use:

  • Save Material Defaults – Stores the current mesh material slots as the new default.
  • Reset Material Defaults – Restores the mesh material slots to the imported defaults.
  • Save Mesh Offset Defaults – Saves new defaults for translation, rotation, or scaling, allowing frequently used transformations to be reused.

Mesh Grouping

Omniarch supports mesh grouping, allowing users to group multiple meshes together for easier manipulation:

Multi-select meshes by holding Ctrl, then click the group button or use key bind Ctrl + G.

This feature is a work in progress, does not yet save with projects, and may still have bugs.
