Materials can be accessed by clicking on the Materials Icon in the Main Toolbar at the left edge of the UI. Omniarch features a foldable material container next to the Main Toolbar. Within you can find Omniarch Material Library and User Created Materials. The UI currently includes a Search Function for more convenient material browsing.

Future updates plan to add Tag-Based Filtering and a Category Tree for even better organization.

Applying Materials

There are multiple ways to apply materials to mesh surfaces in Omniarch:

  • Drag and Drop – Simply drag a material from the container directly onto a mesh surface in the viewport. Each mesh surface corresponds to a material slot defined in the mesh. A single mesh can have one or multiple material slots, depending how they were defined in the modelling software prior and written in the mesh file.
  • Apply to Material Slot With a Click:
    • While Material Icon is selected in the Main Toolbar, select the mesh.
    • Then select a material slot by clicking on the mesh surface location, or from the right panel in the Mesh Settings Menu.
    • Click on a material in the container to apply it.
  • Multi-Slot Appliance:
    • Hold Ctrl to select multiple material surfaces (slots), on either one or multiple meshes.
    • Click on a material in the container to apply it to all selected slots simultaneously.
Multi-Slot Appliance works across multiple material slots on a single mesh or across different meshes.
